Argentex

Argentex (Pty) Ltd

Precious metal recovery, starting with end-of-life solar.

We recover precious metals from solar panel back-sheets and other metal-bearing e-waste, refine them to investment grade, and return the recovered value to the regional economy as bullion.

Solar capacity built through the energy-supply crisis is now reaching the end of its working life.

I

The opportunity

A value stream that leaves the region

Solar is where this begins. South Africa installed an estimated 11 gigawatts of capacity through the energy-supply crisis of recent years, and solar build-out continues across the region. Those panels carry a finite life. As they reach the end of it, the glass, the aluminium frames and the junction boxes are already recovered by licensed recyclers.

The back-sheet, which holds the precious metal, is not. The same gap runs through other electronic waste streams that still carry recoverable metal. Today this material is stockpiled, sent to landfill, or exported for processing abroad, and its value leaves with it. Argentex exists to close that gap.

The precious metal sits in the back-sheet, the layer the market does not yet recover.

What we do

Controlled recovery, investment-grade metal

We take back-sheet material and metal-bearing e-waste from licensed recyclers and recover the precious metals through a controlled refining process. Each metal is refined to investment grade and sold into the bullion and commodity markets.

We carry the processing, the equipment and the operational risk, so our supply partners turn a stockpiled waste stream into recurring value without carrying any of the cost.

III

How we work with recyclers

Alongside the industry, not against it

Argentex is built to work alongside the existing recycling industry, not against it. Licensed recyclers already do the heavy work of collection and primary separation. We add the step the market is missing: commercial precious metal recovery.

Material flows to us, value flows back, and a waste stream that used to carry a disposal cost becomes a source of revenue.

IV

Responsibility

Value retained in the material

Recovering precious metals close to source retains the value held in the material rather than exporting it for others to capture, and it keeps end-of-life panels and e-waste out of landfill and out of export containers.

We operate to the environmental and licensing standards the work demands, with traceability from the input material through to the refined metal.
